Why Watch The Gnome Mobile?

If you love Disney’s Mary Poppins, you will enjoy The Gnome Mobile. The beloved Mary Poppins’ children, Jane and Michael, return in this springtime film as Elizabeth and Rodney Winthrop who are sent to America to visit their grandfather, D.J. Mulrooney.

Mulrooney is a busy lumber tycoon who decides to take his grandchildren on a picnic before heading to an important business meeting. However, things become complicated when Elizabeth claims to see a gnome in the redwood forest.

Mulrooney tries to appease his granddaughter by helping the last of the gnomes; the only problem is Mulrooney didn’t expect to deal with a gnome kidnapper, and he certainly didn’t expect to be betrayed by one of his own employees, who decides Mulrooney should be sent to a mental hospital for claiming to see some of the “little people”. In typical Disney fashion, the laughs are on as the grandkids try to rescue their grandfather, so they can find their new gnome friends before it’s too late.

Memorable Quote

“It was the cutting down of the trees that made the gnomes disappear. I remember it like it was yesterday. Everything was so pleasant and peaceful. Everybody minding their own business. Then, all of the sudden, timber!”
